A world-class Para High Performance Sports Centre is coming up in Gandhinagar
The ₹316.82 crore centre will offer training for 12 Paralympic sports, a sports-science lab and fully accessible facilities across 24,290 sq m.
Groundbreaking for the Para High Performance Sports Centre in Gandhinagar was performed by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. The ₹316.82 crore facility is planned for completion in about two years.
The 24,290 sq m centre will provide training infrastructure for 12 of the 23 Paralympic sports, including sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, para powerlifting, para badminton, para table tennis, goalball, para judo, para taekwondo and para swimming, alongside a sports-science laboratory, two 400-seat multipurpose halls and a modern fitness centre with coaching staff.
For Gujarat's para athletes this is a generational opportunity: a dedicated, fully accessible high-performance home in the state capital. The Chapter looks forward to working with the Sports Authority of Gujarat to make the most of it.
